ನಿನ್ನೆ ರಾತ್ರಿ ಸುವರ್ಣ ಸುದ್ದಿ ವಾಹಿನಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುದ್ದಿ. ವಾರ್ತಾವಾಚಕಿ 'ಸುಬ್ರಮಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಂಕಿತ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಬಂಧಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ' ಎಂದರು. ಇದಪ್ಪಾ ಮಜಾ....ಶಂಕಿತ ಉಗ್ರಗಾಮಿ, ಶಂಕಿತ ನಕ್ಸಲ, ಶಂಕಿತ ಕಳ್ಳ, ಶಂಕಿತ ದರೋಡೆಕೋರ, ಶಂಕಿತ ಕೊಲೆಗಾರ ಎನ್ನುವ ಪದಬಳಕೆ ಪರಿಚಿತ. ಆದರೆ ಇದೇನಿದು - ಶಂಕಿತ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ?
ಸುವರ್ಣ ಸುದ್ದಿವಾಹಿನಿ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ. ಶುಕ್ರವಾರದ ಕನ್ನಡಪ್ರಭ ಮುಖಪುಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದೇ ತಲೆಬರಹದ ಸುದ್ದಿ ಪ್ರಕಟವಾಗಿದೆ. ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಇವರಿಗೆಲ್ಲಾ, ಆತ 'ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ' ಎಂಬುದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆಯೇ ಶಂಕೆಯೇ? ಅಥವಾ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯ 'ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ'ಯಾಗಿರುವುದೂ ಒಂದು ಸಂಶಯಾಸ್ಪದ ಸಂಗತಿಯೇ?
'ಶಂಕಿತ' ಎನ್ನುವ ಪದ ಬಳಕೆ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರಿಗೆ ಬಹುಪ್ರಿಯವಾಗಿರುವುದೇ ಇಂತಹ ತಪ್ಪುಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣ. ಸುಬ್ರಮಣ್ಯ ಘಟನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂಧಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದು ಒಬ್ಬ ಹಿಂದೂ ಹೆಸರಿನವನಾದ ಕಾರಣ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರು ಶಂಕಿತ ಉಗ್ರ ಎನ್ನಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ಅದೇ ಆತನ ಜಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮುಸಲ್ಮಾನ ಇದ್ದಿದ್ದರೆ ಆತನನ್ನು ಶಂಕಿತ ಉಗ್ರ ಎಂದು ಯಾವುದೇ ಮುಲಾಜಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಘೋಷಿಸಿಬಿಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಏನ್ ಮಾಡೋದು? ಇವರು ಒಂಥರಾ ಶಂಕಿತ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರು!!!
ಏನು ಒಂದು... ವಿಷಯ ಇದೆ ಅಂದ್ರೆ...
ನಮ್ಮ ಟಿವಿ9 ಮತ್ತು ಸುವರ್ಣ ಸುದ್ದಿವಾಹಿನಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ "ಏನ್ ಒಂದು" ಎನ್ನುವ ಪದಬಳಕೆ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ. ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ಟಿವಿ9ನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚು. ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವರದಿಗಾರ, ವಾರ್ತಾವಾಚಕರು 'ಏನ್ ಒಂದು...' ಎನ್ನುವ ಪದದ ಮೂಲಕವೇ ಸುದ್ದಿ ಆರಂಭಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಮತ್ತೆ ಒಂದು ಮನವಿ...
ಶಂಕಿತ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರೇ ತಿದ್ದಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಿರಾ...

This seems foolish. In the latest post "Suddimaatu Sampadakiya", you people say, you all have worked in journalism for 3-4 years. Yet, you guys are not aware of the reality that the face of journalism has changed in the recent past.
24x7 news channels not only compete among themselves, but also with the newspapers. If the channels win in the evening, it is an active newspaper which wins the morning.
It has become order of the day in channels to break the news with catchy captions, so do with newspapers with eye attracting headlines. Reading too much of them seems Cynic.
"Enu Ondu.." of TV9, it's style of communication, so as to make the viewer feel that the latter is watching a specific development LIVE.
And coming to, "Subrahmanyadalli Shankitha Vyakthi..." published in Kannada Prabha, have you read the story, or just the headline? It starts with "Anumaanaaspadavagi vartisuttidda vyaktiyobbanannu...". So, i would like to educate you that in the present journalism, headline is just an eye catcher. One can't say the exact things in headlines because of several constraints. You guys must have known it if you have really worked as journalists.
But, I appreciate the blog's research in commenting on over reactions of the media. At the same time i personally feel reading too much of silly things is nothing more than being childish. Sit back and think a while before you post such analytics. Good luck.
